It's so intense I started to cry! This Raph is just... Waow!! I love Raph and now I'm loving him even more because of this fantastic drawing!!!!!!!! Or animation or whatevs... When it's a drawing: OMFG how? I just can't see it!
So sad! Raph would definitely be destroyed the most if his family died.
If anyone has a fanfiction account and writes stories about these guys let me know. I wouldn't mind reading anything with my four favorite boys in it. If by any chance you have a picture that goes along with the story on here then let me know that too. Can't wait to start reading
Please make one where he weeps at his brothers bananas eye wear , because I love them all! And seeing one where, raph the one so hard on everyone. loses them. And it would just be so heart breaking. Especially for him! Please think about it, i bet a lot of us would love to see it!I love it!
I love every one of your 'goodbye, my brothers...' pieces, Raphael is my favorite. I've always had a fascination with him. While most see him as a angry hothead, those who look deeper see someone who's emotions and feelings run so incredibly deep. This piece completely breaks my heart. You successfully captured Raphael's grief and desperation.
So true. I remembered him from some of the 2003 i saw and fell in love with him in the 2012. I even like his 1987 version, not as hot tempered though. He fights to protect his brothers so they don't get hurt and he shows sadness faster than his brothers at some points, like when April leaves the group. And whenever he was with Spike he could show his true self and his beautiful smile. If you haven't already, there is a really good story on fanfiction about Raph protecting his brothers; it's called Mists of the Mind by Raphaelari.
Amazing stuff. I've always been a Raphael fan and think this is a brilliant take on his often well concealed strong emotions. Have you thought about doing one of splinter when he witnesses the brutal defeat of his beloved children?
I would love to actually see a history behind this art. Raphael always has been the hard one, the bad ass, the strongest. Then this.... his soul broken because of the pain of losing the people he loves most in the world, his family. Imagine what happens next. When he has nothing to lose, when he cried and suffered all he can cry and suffer. Imagine him with only anger left... its kinda scary.
" Raphael's anger took a turn for the worst during the battle between good and evil, the young turtle decided to use his rage on Shredder rather than focusing on what was happening. The foot kept coming in numbers of thousands, but Raph would just fight on. Suddenly before the final stoke on Shredder, Raph noticed that the other turtles had overwhelmed by the numbers of foot ninja. Raphael could only watch, as his brothers came towards their end. Raph left heart broken, blaming himself for not being their for his brothers and fighting with them as a team member. Splinter wanted to help him on controlling his rage, but the young turtle decided to leave New York and live on his own. Raphael continues battle against evil wherever it may come from, but eventually his anger turned him not into a hero, but a an unstoppable monster."
I want to know if it's intentional that he's the only one who has no visible injuries. He's the strongest fighter, is the implication that he went into a furious rage and killed absolutely everyone before he broke emotionally? Is it a metaphor for the pain he feels on the inside having more weight than any possible physical harm? OR, is it suggesting that he was, probably through some stubbornness or bullheadedness, RESPONSIBLE for their deaths in a way the other three weren't? Is his head bowed because he can't bear the shame? Why didn't he take their headbands like Leo and Don did? Why didn't Michaelangelo? Was he also responsible in his situation, did his childishness and immaturity cause their deaths?
tl;dr, Leo and Donatello look angry, Michaelangelo looks heartbroken, Raphael looks frightened and utterly ashamed; is there a hypothetical reason why?
